How to Apply

Applications for our 2019 cohort open on January 14, 2019 and are due by March 18.

Eligibility Requirements

Admission to the Paul Ramsey Institute is open to those with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Applicants should be under the age of forty-five and should be from those who are currently pursuing continuing education within the field of bioethics (law, medicine, theology, philosophy, or science) or those already working within one of these fields.

As part of the application form, applicants must upload an essay (a prompt is included within the application), a current resume or CV, which includes the applicant’s professional experience, and two letters of reference (one must be academic, the other may be personal, PDF files only).

All application materials are due on or before March 18, 2019.

Applicants may be asked to participate in a Skype interview during the week of March 25, 2019.

Final application decisions will be sent via e-mail during the week of April 1, 2019.

Accepted applicants will be invited to participate in six Paul Ramsey Institute colloquiums (three during the 2019-2020 academic year and three during the 2020-2021 academic year). All travel costs, lodging, and specified meals will be covered.

Applicants are expected to attend all colloquiums. For the 2019-2020 year the dates are:

  • September 13-15, 2019
  • January 24-26, 2020
  • April 17-19, 2020
